Overview:CORT is hiring a full-time, exempt, temporary Staff Accountant in Chantilly, VA. This temporary position is expected to start in mid June and end sometime in November of 2023.The staff accountant is responsible for maintaining the general ledgers, preparing financial statements, month end close procedures, balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations including agent check accounts, and analyzing financial data.This is an onsite position based in CORT's corporate office in Chantilly, VA.Responsibilities:Prepare monthly general ledger journal entriesPerform month end review of operating unit financial statements as assignedPreparing various daily & monthly account reconciliationsPreparing month end financial and operational reports as assignedAssisting with the quarter-end and year-end financial close and reporting processAssisting with preparation of information for the year-end tax packageProviding back up support to other staff accountants as assignedAssisting other corporate and field departments with general ledger and financial reportingQualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required1+ years of experience in accounting or related field (preferred)Proficient in Microsoft ExcelStrong written and oral communication skillsAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyStrong organizational and analytical skillsAble to read and understand technical forms and financial reportsWilling to establish and maintain effective working relationshipsApplicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the US.
