We’re seeking a Senior Accounts Payable Accountant to support our
finance operations and help drive excellence in our vendor and
payment processes. About the Role: We are seeking a detail-oriented
and experienced Senior Accounts Payable Accountant to join our
finance team in Herndon, VA. This role is ideal for a proactive
professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is
passionate about optimizing AP processes, ensuring compliance, and
supporting financial operations. Key Responsibilities: Help to
manage accounts payable process, including invoice processing,
payment runs, and vendor reconciliations. Ensure timely and
accurate processing of invoices in accordance with company policies
and procedures. Review and resolve discrepancies in vendor accounts
and communicate effectively with internal departments and external
vendors. Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
related to AP. Support audits by preparing documentation and
responding to inquiries. Mentor junior AP staff and contribute to
process improvement initiatives. This role is around 70% a sole
contributor role without direct supervision Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Business. Minimum of 5
years of progressive experience in accounts payable or general
accounting. Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) and
Microsoft Excel. Excellent analytical, organizational, and
communication skills. Ability to work independently and
collaboratively in a team environment. Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a multi-entity or international organization.
