Job Description Job Description Job Description: The Staff Accountant will assist with maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close processes, preparing financial reports and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Responsibilities: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Perform general ledger account reconciliations, including bank and credit card reconciliations. Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions. Support the month-end and year-end close processes. Prepare and file sales tax, payroll tax, and other regulatory reports. Assist with budget preparation and forecasting. Help maintain and update accounting systems and records. Prepare and assist with internal and external audits. Assist with the preparation of tax filings and ensure compliance with tax regulations. Provide support for ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed. Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software (Costpoint and/or Unanet) Attention to detail with the ability to work efficiently and accurately Strong organizational and time management skills Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to work independently and as part of a team Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements is a plus.
