Electronic Engineer, Lead (CREW) - Kuwait (Secret Clearance Required) GDIT has an exciting opportunity for a Counter Radio-Controlled Improvised Explosive Device (RCIED) Electronic Warfare (CREW) Lead at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait. Must have a current and active Secret clearance. The role will be supporting scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on the CREW family of systems. Specific systems may include the AN/VLQ-12 CREW Duke system, vehicle-mounted Duke V2, Warlock jammer, Duke V3 vehicle-mounted jammer, AN/PLT-5 man-packet ECM systems, and Ground Auto-Targeting Observation/Reactive Jammer (GATOR). This position can require outdoor work with potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions, including frequent dust storms and high temperatures - up to 130 degrees F in the summer.--Role responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a multi-functional team responsible for providing training, sustainment, and logistic support of all CREW, Quick Reaction, and GATOR systems troubleshooting and repairs, including communications-electronics and EW systems.
  • Responsible for the overall performance of the shop and the team.
  • Responsible for the high quality of service/equipment and for ensuring complete customer satisfaction.
  • Compile, submit, and analyze accurate daily, weekly, and monthly reports.--
  • Serve as a technical representative at meetings and consultations with clients or their representatives.
  • Address customer concerns regarding hardware, upgrades, and maintenance.
  • Validate PMIs at locations to verify accountability of BETSS-C assets.
  • Oversee system components and perform preventive maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of modules and circuit cards to the lowest replaceable unit (LRU)/component.
  • Work with the unit commander on the ground to ensure all the units requirements for the systems are met.
  • Maintain strong attention to detail and a positive attitude.
  • Interact with all organizational levels professionally, diplomatically, and tactfully.
  • Multi-task efficiently in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects.
  • Monitor/administer small group training to soldiers during Relief in Place/Transfer of Authority (RIP/TOA).
  • Conduct any additional duties requested by the RSC team.
  • Travel on military/commercial conveyances to outlying areas.--
  • Go TDY to multiple locations within SWA.
  • Read and interpret schematic and engineering drawings and diagrams.--
  • Develop integration plans and perform hardware integrations.
  • Multi-task efficiently and work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects.
  • Position is multifunctional and will required candidate to support various electronic programs to include but not limited to the service and repair of COMSEC equipment, Harris/Thales radio repair, Rapiscan, various backpack electronic warfare(EW) systems, uninterrupted power sources, and numerous types electronic components supported by regional support center falling under C5ISR purview.
    The ideal candidate must have:
    • Proven knowledge of radio frequency (RF) theory and principles and the effects of CREW systems operating in an electronic countermeasures environment.
    • At least 10 years documented experience with sustainment of Army electronic warfare systems.
    • About 5 to 10 years proven experience in leading/managing a team.
    • Ability to complete CRC (medically/physically) and deploy.
    • Must have a current and active U.S. government SECRET clearance.
    • Six blank pages together in the passport.
    • Valid U.S. drivers license and U.S. passport with 6 blank pages.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).The ideal candidate will have:
      • Documented experience planning vehicle movements, with vehicles equipped with EW systems, fixed-site systems, and dismount systems, and understanding insurgent improvised explosive device (IED) emplacement tactics.
      • Ability to develop techniques, tactics, and procedures (TTP) for deploying vehicles equipped with CREW systems based on national, local, and emerging RCIED threats.
      • Experience with various COMSEC equipment and configurations.
      • Experience as a courier of sensitive COMSEC equipment and CRYPTO.
      • Experience in interpreting system drawings, electronic schematics, network drawings, and engineering drawings.
      • Experience working in hostile and austere environments.
      • Experience in customer support.
      • Experience in stock control and asset management.Desirable skills/qualifications:
        • U.S. Navy NEC or Army EW MOS or functional area course.
        • Comprehensive knowledge of ECM systems.--
        • DoD electronic warfare school certification.
        • Graduate of a Department of Defense electronic warfare course.
        • Experience in a forward-facing customer support role.
        • Excellent customer presence and verbal and written communication skills, experience in writing system documentation documents, and experience in communications involving system installation and operation
