Position Details:

As a Senior Network Engineer (Boundary Protection Engineer) on our team, you will: Support the customer's various wide area networks (WANs) and local area networks (LANs). This position will provide boundary protection to an enterprise level infrastructure across multiple classifications and act as subject matter experts in boundary technologies across multiple vendors to prevent and detect malicious and other unauthorized communications, through the use of boundary protection devices (e.g. gateways, routers, firewalls, guards, encrypted tunnels). The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with ASA, Forcepoint and Palo Alto firewalls and will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our organization's firewall infrastructure and firewall rule sets.

Requirements

• Extensive knowledge of firewall architecture and design principles
• Experience with configuring and deploying Cisco ASA, Forcepoint and Palo Alto firewalls
• Understanding of network protocols and security principles
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with other IT teams
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA Security, CCNP Security, Palo Alto Networks Certified are a plus
• Candidate must have 16 years of experience that can be a combination of work history and education. This equates to a master's and 10 years, bachelor's and 12 years, associate's and 14 years or HS and 16 years. Twelve years of experience that can be a combination of work history and education
• Candidate must have 10 years of relevant boundary protection experience delivering fault tolerant data network infrastructure solutions and incident response
• Must meet DoD 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2
• Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph Responsibilities:
  • Design, configure and deploy Cisco ASA, Forcepoint and Palo Alto firewalls
  • Provide technical support for firewall infrastructure and firewall rule sets
  • Manage and troubleshoot firewall-related issues
  • Ensure firewall infrastructure is secure and up to date
  • Analyze and recommend improvements to firewall architecture
  • Work closely with other IT teams to ensure proper integration of firewall infrastructure with other systems
  • Stay up to date on emerging firewall technologies and recommend changes to firewall infrastructure accordingly
  • Develop and maintain firewall policies and procedures
