The Vehicle Design and Innovation Department (VDID) provides space
vehicle design and analysis, rapid systems engineering processes,
and vehicle systems engineering support throughout the program
acquisition lifecycle using systems engineers, modeling
capabilities, rapid prototyping tools, and dedicated engineering
development facilities. As a member of VDID you will be developing
the next generation of innovative spacecraft designs to solve the
most challenging problems of our US Space Force, Intelligence
Community, NASA, NOAA, and commercial/international customers. VDID
- VDA Section Description The Vehicle Design and Analysis (VDA)
Section within VDID focuses on developing, maintaining, and
improving the various tools used by VDID during the assessment of
space vehicle concepts, which assist our customers at various
stages of the systems engineering and acquisition process. What
You'll Be Doing As a Member (or Senior Member) of the Technical
staff, you'll be: Leading early-stage design studies for spacecraft
concepts; types of studies can include both small, individual
efforts as well as larger, multidisciplinary teams of subject
matter experts. Leading continuous development, maintenance, and
improvement of the tools and models that are used during spacecraft
design and analysis activities. Evaluating the feasibility of
spacecraft and space architecture concepts during key milestone
reviews such as Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review,
etc. Developing as a subject matter expert in spacecraft-level
systems engineering to support execution of customer programs.
Establishing strong working relationships with government, program
office, and contractor personnel as well as other members of
Aerospace's engineering group. Work Model Hybrid: This position
will be a hybrid work model and offer partially remote with a
minimum of 3 days per week of onsite work required in Aerospace's
campuses in El Segundo, CA, Colorado Springs, CO, or Chantilly, VA.
What You Need to be Successful Minimum requirements for Member of
the Technical Staff: Bachelor's degree from an accredited program
in a relevant engineering or science discipline. 2 years relevant
experience Relevant work and/or graduate school experience,
typically 2 years or a Master's degree, in a related engineering or
science discipline. Demonstrated knowledge and/or relevant
coursework in spacecraft subsystems and systems engineering topics.
Ability to excel at both self-directed tasks, as well as large
collaborative, multi-disciplinary teams. Experience with concurrent
engineering tools, processes, and methodologies. Excellent
interpersonal and communications skills and ability to excel in a
collaborative environment; proficiency with office and
collaboration tools, such as MS Office. Ability to travel
domestically, on an infrequent basis. The position requires ability
to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the
US government. US citizenship is required to obtain a security
clearance. Additional Minimum Requirements for Senior Member of the
Technical Staff: Relevant work and/or graduate school experience,
typically a Master's degree 4 years work experience. Strong
leadership skills and a willingness to mentor earlier career staff

conflicting time demands. Advanced knowledge of spacecraft
subsystems and system engineering topics. Advanced knowledge of
concurrent engineering methodologies, processes, and tools.
Proficiency in modeling and simulation tools, and programming
languages, including one or more of the following: MATLAB, Python,
Simulink, STK, C++, VBA, SolidWorks, Cameo, or similar. Strong,
demonstrated personal initiative to seek out work, establish
relationships throughout organizations, and identify and correct
issues as they arise. Current or active TS/SCI clearance. We offer

Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide
variety of factors including but not limited to education,
experience, knowledge and skills. (Min - Mid - Max) $71,000 -
