OverviewEmployer is looking for a talented--Solr Engineer who --will develop enterprise search solutions to solve complex challenges surrounding data analytics and search engines utilizing cloud technologies. This role will require hands-on experience with data analytics, algorithms, large data structures, large-scale datasets, and real-time search platforms using Apache Solr.ResponsibilitiesMonitor and audit search application performance through load testing, search testing, and/or query response time testing and report activities on an on-going basisConfigure and set up multiple Solr cores under CentOS and Linux environmentAnalyze unstructured data for ingestDesign and develop ingest processesDesign and develops Solr schema for efficiencyDesign and develop interface for application searchesDesign network architecture for Solr clusterDesign network architecture for cluster disaster recoveryDesign and develop incremental update proceduresDesign and develop collection replacement strategyDefine and configure Solr index schemas for multiple data elementsCreate and schedule periodic refresh of Solr indexes using cron jobsBuild Solr queries for multiple search requirementsDesign and develop search engine monitoring toolsLead team to accomplish customer objectivesQualificationsREQUIRED:Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or an equivalent amount of work experience plus a minimum of 15 years of related work experience3+ years of experience using and working with Apache Solr3+ years of experience implementing Solr builds of indexes, shards, and refined searches across un-structured datasets to include architectural scaling3+ years of experience in architectural design and resource planning for scaling Solr capabilities3+ years of experience with Apache Zookeeper2+ years of experience with automated techniques and processes for bulk indexing of large-scale datasets residing in database or un-indexed systems.2+ years of experience working on Scrum or other agile development based methodologies2+ years of experience leading development effortsPREFFERED:Hadoop specific experienceFamiliarity with Entity Resolution technologyVersion control experience with SVN or GitFamiliarity with architecture, both logical and physical designExperience with distributed queuing with technologies like KafkaFamiliarity with AWS--SECURITY CLEARANCE:------This position requires the candidate to already possess a TS with the ability to obtain a SCI with Polygraph security clearance--and to maintain the clearance.--About EmployerEmployer provides innovative, reliable solutions to the nation's most sensitive and mission-critical programs and systems.
