Spacecraft Program Mission Assurance Engineer (Job Number:439060)Description:SAIC in looking for a qualified engineer with technical expertise in major space systems acquisitions mission assurance. The selected candidate will be an integral participant in executing the mission assurance program for the System Program Office (SPO). Candidate should be experienced in mission assurance and quality systems requirements for large spacecraft development prime contractors. Candidate will be expected to support incorporation of new resiliency requirements as they are developed for SPO programs. Activities leverage on an understanding of full life cycle system support, from procurement to launch, including MA requirements analysis, MA requirements tracking, MA or quality system design and an understanding of quality/mission assurance functions during flight hardware manufacturing, test, system integration, system level test, delivery and sell- off.The following tasks are representative of those that will be accomplished at the request of the customer, but are not limited to:- Support the customer at weekly and monthly MA activities including program office meetings, teleconferences, enterprise level meetings, and factory mission assurance forums as required- Participate in development contractor mission assurance/quality assurance activities and forums to include Parts, Materials and Processes (PM&P) Control Board, subcontractor audits, Functional Configuration Audits (FCA) and Physical Configuration Audits (PCA), Corrective/ Preventive Action Boards, and Failure Review Boards- Support the development, application and monitoring of the government MA Standards for analysis and prevention of issues that have caused failures, launch delays, reduced mission life or performance or resulted in significant rework- Support the development of mission assurance profiles to include tailoring of mission assurance standards for new systems and initiatives- Understand radiation environment, requirements, and tests and analyses to verify performance against the requirements- Provide support to develop and monitor the SPO Quality Assurance program which is based upon Quality Assurance Standards in the NRO Mission Assurance Plan- Provide expert technical knowledge across machining, electronic fabrication, chemical processing, inspection techniques, assembly and integration, destructive/nondestructive testing, production management, Quality Assurance (QA), and Parts, Material and Processes (PM&P)- Support unit manufacturing reviews from a QA and PM&P perspective as needed- Evaluate waivers and deviations to requirements for deliverable hardware and software as they are submitted for SPO approval- Review and coordinate QA and PM&P actions with all members of the customer technical team including FFRDC PM&P representatives- Track issues, significant accomplishments, upcoming events, and provide weekly status updates to the customer- Coordinate with customer lead, other spacecraft subsystem leads, branch and division chiefs as requested- Provide support to anomaly investigations as required by the customer for prime contractor and sub-contractor development and manufacturing- Provide technical evaluation of Mission Assurance efforts in engineering change proposals- Other duties as specified by the customerQualifications:CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:- TS/SCI with PolyREQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS:- Bachelor degree in an engineering discipline- Basic understanding of DOD/lC satellite systems and architectures- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, team building and problem solving skills with a demonstrated ability to be effective in a government/contractor team environmentDESIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS:- Ability to work tasks with short notice, agile in approaching solution to work within flexible work parameters- Experience with spacecraft failure review, anomaly resolution, fault management and spacecraft reliability- Experience in DOD/IC acquisition and program management processes- Excellent oral and written communication skills- Demonstrated sustained superior performance- Available to travel domestically (25%)- 10-15 years' experience with spacecraft MA responsibilities- American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Quality Engineer (CaE)- ASQ Certified Quality Auditor (CaA)- ICAF*SAIC Overview:SAIC is a premier technology integrator providing full life cycle services and solutions in the technical, engineering, intelligence, and enterprise information technology markets.
