We all share a common passion and aspiration - to serve a mission much bigger than ourselves.-- When you join our team, you'll be part of a rare collection of thought leaders and game-changing innovators.-- Are you ready to launch your career?ResponsibilitiesSummaryBecome the leader of a program office team charged with enabling the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) in their role as the Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) Functional Manager to shape the future GEOINT architecture during the coming decades. --This position represents a significant career opportunity to lead Aerospace's support to NGA's Chief Information Officer and Information Technology Services (CIO-T) which acquires, provides, and maintains geospatial information technology, services, and business solutions. --When you join the National Geospatial Programs (NGP) Director team, your leadership of a cross-cutting portfolio will influence the GEOINT enterprise for a generation. The Systems Director must possess strong skills in leading a diverse team serving the GEOINT analytic enterprise to conduct architecture analysis, perform systems engineering, acquire new capabilities, and maintain the geospatial imagery and analysis infrastructure. --In this opportunity the successful candidate will help NGA achieve the goals of their Technology Strategy by applying Aerospace's deep technical bench of space enterprise expertise to every major program realizing strategy in operations.Key FunctionsBuilding, maintaining, and driving collaborative relationships between NGA intelligence leaders across multiple Directorates and their Intelligence Community (IC) counterparts to bridge joint dependencies and co-development;Developing, communicating, and defending technical and programmatic positions on customer issues which may include, systems engineering, ground system acquisitions, digital engineering, network/architecture concepts, and technology development/readiness, to both the customer and Aerospace senior management;--Building and Leading multi-disciplinary teams of subject matter experts from Aerospace's Engineering Technology Group to ensure appropriate tasking, progress and results are achieved;Providing management functions such as hiring, performance assessments, mentoring and career planning, manage and track resources, provide weekly/monthly reporting and other required documentation;Supporting the Principal Director and Aerospace senior leadership in facilitating, sustaining, and growing strong customer relationships.QualificationsRequiredBachelor's degree in engineering, science or related technical discipline;Experience working with NGA, the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), their common interfaces and lines of demarcation;Demonstrated ability to lead mixed government, SETA, and FFRDC teams;Demonstrated ability to recruit, direct and manage performance, evaluation, and career development of highly skilled technical staff;Demonstrated ability to establish, maintain, and grow effective working relationships with customers;Familiarity with program management, DoD budget programming, requirements, and/or acquisition processes;Exceptional interpersonal, collaborative, customer interfacing, written, and oral communication skills;Exhibit exceptionally high level of innovation, creativeness, and initiative;Ability to travel locally to off-site meetings and air travel to Aerospace or Customer office locations (once COVID guidelines permit such travel);Current TS/SCI with SSBIThis position requires the ability to have and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. --U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.PreferredA minimum of 12 years of experience or more years of increasingly responsible professional engineering/science experience;M.S. or Ph.D. in engineering, mathematics, or science;Certification as a Systems Engineering Professional;Experience working with NGA CIO-T Directorate;Experience and expertise in geospatial intelligence collection systems, operations, and intelligence analysis;Experience interfacing with and briefing senior government civilians, and military general officers/flag;Working knowledge of the GEOINT enterprise including ground, air, space, and end-user;Familiarity with model-based systems engineering for GEOINT architectures, systems engineering, network architectures, and/or sensor integration technologies;Familiarity with Aerospace business practices to include STE management and execution, performance development process, technical objective and plan development, continuation learning, goal/strategy development, and personnel accountabilityTranscript RequirementNone--Additional Requisition DetailsClearance Requirement: TS/SSBI--Access: SCI--Polygraph: Counter Intelligence Polygraph--Relocation Available:-- Yes--Employment Type: Regular--Work Schedule: Full Time----Company StatementThe Aerospace Corporation has provided independent technical and scientific research, development, and advisory services to national security space programs since 1960.
