Job Title: Vice President of OperationsDepartment: OperationsJob
Summary: The Vice President of Operations will contribute to the
development of the company's strategic plan and be a key
contributor to effective implementation of this plan. As the senior
individual responsible for both instrumentation and assay
manufacturing as well as sustaining software development and
manufacturing engineering, the Vice President of Operations is
accountable to establish plans to meet the requirements of overall
business goals. Responsible for the effective operation of the
manufacturing organization which includes manufacturing,
purchasing, production planning, manufacturing engineering support,
inventory management control and product shipping/receiving.
Establish and maintain the processes necessary to create a world
class manufacturing organization with a focus on producing quality
products.Responsible for the establishment of a constant
improvement program, effectively leading the manufacturing
organization through a rapid improvement process, using lean,
kaizan and other best practice manufacturing tools. Work closely
with QA/RA Department to ensure compliance with all applicable
regulations and requirements. Motivate staff to establish an
atmosphere of quality and customer satisfaction. Direct and monitor
activities and performance of subordinates providing assistance and
coaching as needed. Conduct performance appraisals in accordance
with established policies. Ensure product knowledge of all staff in
latest developments within their areas of expertise.
Requirements:
Essential Functions: The Vice President of Operations will manage
staff to effectively meet the monthly, quarterly and annual goals;
Perform analyses of material flow, production processes and sales
forecast to determine operations group capability to meet goals and
modify as required; Establish/maintain a quality system to meet the
requirements of our customers and markets; Work with QA/RA
Department to ensure high quality products, cGMP and ISO standards
compliance; Ensure that all employees are trained and capable of
meeting the quality goals; Establish, maintain and document
manufacturing processes; Create, report and post metrics that
demonstrate the accomplishment of goals; Establish a process
directed process improvement atmosphere and establish the
leadership to effectively drive change; Provide performance updates
to senior leadership and the Board; Contribute as a senior
management team member in creating company strategy and
implementation plans and in supporting counterparts in the
organization; Responsible to maintain an atmosphere that
contributes to and supports corporate business policies and
practices; Responsible for refining and developing programs/metrics
for evaluating and improving supplier performance to be completely
aligned with the overall organization. Responsible for development
of high performers. Facility improvements, build outs and
maintenance. Leads coordination, implementation and maintenance of
our workplace safety program. Supervisory Responsibilities:
Responsible for supervising more than 30 people; Responsible for
supervising multi-functional teams consisting of departments to
include warehouse, inventory management, purchasing, engineering,
production, etc. Success Factors: Ability to work independently
with little direction within a highly regulated global environment
requiring , ISO13485 cGMP and six sigma. Dependable. Able to
prioritize multiple tasks from multiple sources. Highly organized.
Willing to take on a variety of tasks. Strong interpersonal skills
and ability to work in a collegial environment.Minimum
Qualifications / Education: 4-year degree in the field of science
or engineering. Over seven years of operational experience in a
highly regulated medical environment. Computer Skills: Proficient
in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. Familiar with ERP and Quality
Systems.Work Environment: Office/Production floor.Physical
Requirements: Must be able to meet National Institute for
Occupational Safety & Health (NIOSH) Standards.Additional
