supported and students are educated nationwide.Job PurposeThe
Information Technology (IT) Manager is responsible for ensuring
access to timely, stable, and high-quality technology
infrastructure and services to all stakeholders of the Inspired
Teaching Demonstration School. This position provides leadership in
managing computing projects, supports staff and students, serves as
an advocate for computing and related technologies in the school,
and maintains a dialogue with the leadership team regarding the
school's technological capacity, strengths, and challenges. The IT
Manager is also the primary point of contact for external vendor
and support relationships, planning for technology procurement and
maintenance that fits within the school's technology
budget.Essential FunctionsThe IT Manager is responsible for the
following:Manage Technology Program
- Manage the school's computing and network systems and ensure
high-quality services, which meet the school's instructional and
operational needs
- Evaluate and monitor hardware, application software, server
software, and operating systems so as to deliver and maintain
consistent, reliable performance
- Plan for technology upgrades and integration into the classroom
in coordination with the COO and budgetary constraints
- Collaborate with vendors on technology-related products
- Update, and upgrade and maintain all technology-related
devices, including iPads and Chromebooks
- Maintain up-to-date inventories of all hardware, including
computers, Chromebooks, tablets, and A/V equipment
- Procure, maintain, and rebuild/repair media carts for housing
and safely charging hardware
- Proactively identify opportunities to leverage technology to
further our mission of student achievement in coordination with
peer teams and appropriate school-based stakeholdersSupport Staff
- Troubleshoot in-the-moment technology problems and issues for
staff and students
- Provide problem analysis, research, evaluation, and resolution
(where appropriate) for end users for both hardware and
software
- Support instructional leadership team and data team(s) by
providing guidance on technology solutions and systems as requested
and make recommendations about what tech should be newly
adopted/implemented
- Develop, communicate, and manage school-wide policies regarding
technology
- Provide new employees with a technology orientation, covering
daily use and school-wide computer and internet policies
- Develop written instructions and how-to videos and procedures
for the use of hardware and software as needed
- Design, deliver, and oversee professional development
opportunities to meet the learning needs of staff as it relates to
integrating technology into academic programming.Systems & Special
Projects
- Manage and serve as a super administrator for the following
systems:
- GSuite (Google apps for edu, user accounts, groups, device
management, drive, etc.)
- Hardware (PCs, Macbooks, Chromebooks, iPads,
Server/Firewall/WiFi, A/V equipment, phones and copiers & printers,
etc.)
- Software (MS Office Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud, etc.)
- Communications Platforms (Google Groups for family
communication, etc.)
- Tech Support for student assessment (WIDA ACCESS, DC CAPE,
Amplify, NWEA/MAP, etc.)
- Phone system
- Printing and copying
- School security system (fobs and cameras)
- Provide AV and technology skills to school special events and
projects:
- Serve as POC and coordinator of A/V sound system at school
special events, including school performances
- Create special video projects for various school communications
needs and events (i.e. promotion, fundraisers, student
recruitment)
- Support creation and maintenance of front desk slideshows and
school websiteQualifications
- Demonstrated experience with managing multiple technology
platforms/operating systems, hardware, and software - PC, Mac,
Chromebook, Google Suite, etc
- Ability to troubleshoot technology problems in the moment for
staff with a range of technology experience and understanding
- Knowledge of how to maintain networks
- Ability to creatively problem solve to find ways to work within
a limited technology budget
- Skill and interest in creating videos and other A/V materials
to promote school and its mission
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to translate tech speak to regular people
- Deep commitment to reflective practice, an ability to give and
receive feedback openlyand without defensiveness, and a desire to
constantly question and improve teachingpractice.

Teaching Demonstration School was founded on the work of Center for
Inspired Teaching to ensure that all schools make the most of
children's innate desire to learn. The school is organized to meet
two related, mutually reinforcing goals: to provide an excellent
education for students, and to provide excellent teacher
preparation and professional development for teachers and teacher
leaders. As such, the school is a true learning community.Inspired
Teaching Demonstration School opened for the 2011-2012 school year
following authorization by the District of Columbia Public Charter
School Board. The school was founded by a Founding Group convened
by Center for Inspired Teaching, a Washington DC based non-profit
organization, which began working with teachers and schools in
1995. Professional development, mentoring, and teacher
certification programs have all been a part of Inspired Teaching
Demonstration School's work and shared goal to transform the school
experience for all children.PhilosophyInspired Teaching is rooted
