Join our team and thrive in a career that matters to the world and you personally.Aerospace is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Manager to manage and implement traditional Occupational Safety, Fire Life Safety, and Emergency Preparedness programs. This includes fall protection, electrical safety, LOTO, contractor safety, injury investigation, emergency planning, fire protection, life safety, fire systems inspections and maintenance, and others as assigned by the EHS Director. The candidate will be responsible for developing, managing and implementing the Occupational Safety, Fire Life Safety, and Emergency Preparedness programs for the site, regionals sites and lend support Enterprise wide. The selected candidate will report directly to the EHS Director and will have one direct report. * * This position is remote during COVID, but will need to move to Chantilly VA upon normal non -COVID business operations. Key Functions : --- Assists in training personnel regarding environmental, health, safety matters, regulations and EHS awareness programs
--- Development and implementation of strategic initiatives that drive continuous improvement Responsible for planning, implementing strategy and overseeing EHS staff.
--- Develop and implement EHS policies and Aerospace Work Instructions (AWI's)
--- Assists with the development, implementation, and maintenance of Fire Life Safety and EHS programs to ensure compliance, injury prevention, and risk mitigation
--- Interfaces with regulatory representatives, senior management, and the Emergency Response, and Crisis Management teams
--- Investigate injuries/incidents to determine root cause and develop corrective actions and track to completion
--- Investigate and resolve fire life safety and EHS issues, questions, or concerns received from within the company, among outside customers, regulatory agencies, etc
--- Respond to emergencies that require either an evacuation, shelter-in-place order, or lock down-- Qualifications Required
--- 8 or more years of relevant experience with Bachelor's Degree
--- Experienced with OSHA, NFPA, NEC, and ANSI Standards
--- Experience with environmental, health, and safety best practices, standards, and methodologies
--- Responsible leadership experience in management, supervisory, or team lead--
--- Technical background with Safety program management and compliance
--- Intermittent traveling is required--under normal non-COVID circumstances--- This role requires the ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret clearance issued by the U.S. Government. US Citizenship is required. * * This position is remote during COVID, but will need to move to Chantilly VA upon normal non -COVID business operations. Preferred
--- Advanced degrees in relevant disciplines a plus
--- Professional Certifications preferred (e.g. CIH, CSP and/or CHMM)
--- 40 Hour HazWoper
--- First Aid, CPR, AED Certified--- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of customers and corporate staff
--- Ability to plan, organize, and follow-up on work flow to meet department goals and objectives
--- Must have the ability to work with minimal supervision, prioritize and delegate so that tasks can be completed correctly and timely
--- Strong written and oral communication skills
--- Must work well in a team environment
--- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel--- Must be detail oriented, possess strong organizational skills and able to prioritize tasks and projects
