Job Functions, Duties, Responsibilities and Position Qualifications:Part Time - Onsite (one day a week) Essential Functions

• Oversee the clinical, technical and administrative aspects of cytopathology testing services
• Provide medical leadership and continued medical education to all laboratory staff as well as the sales/marketing team
• Ensure that the performance specifications for new tests, instruments and methods are validated prior to being used for patient testing. -
• Review, recommend and implement changes as needed regarding quality control, reference ranges, SOPs, test menus and panels as related to cytopathology
• Provide interpretation/consultation to referring physicians regarding the significance of laboratory findings and ensures that reports of test results include pertinent information required for adequate patient result interpretation
• Provide support and direction in the strategic planning of laboratory services, including business development and establishment of goals and objectives
• Apply analytics to operations and outcomes related to laboratory services, including but not limited to operational performance, cost and efficacy of laboratory testing, client service performance, test utilization, clinical decision support and patient experience and safety
• Maintain an effective working relationship with applicable accrediting and regulatory agencies, administrative officials and the medical community Additional Responsibilities
  • Participate in conference calls with clinicians and Sonic Healthcare staff
  • Work closely with sales team to present clinical pathology testing services to clients including client visits
  • Remain current with the literature especially related to tests being signed and makes recommendations regarding improving or expanding tests and the test menu
  • Attend presentations, meetings and scientific conferences as required for maintaining medical licenses and board certifications or in case of business related activities that are beneficial to furthering the company's reputation and competitiveness. - Requirements
    • Virginia, Maryland, DC, West Virginia, New York State Medical Licenses
    • Board Certified Cytopathology New York State Department of Health Certificate of Qualification for Cytology
