QUALIFICATIONS:
* Education: Degree: Master's degree in Social Work (MSW). Graduate
from a School of Social Work fully accredited by the Council on
Social Work Education (CSWE).
* Experience: 1). Trained in the delivery of evidence based
treatment for PTSD (ie, PE, CPT, or EMDR). 2).Have a minimum of 3
years' experience as a licensed clinical social worker with adult
patients, with active clinical practice in the last 2 years.
* Licensure: Possess a current, full, active, and unrestricted
license to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker
(LCSW).
* Certification: Possess and maintain a current American Heart
Association BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
Additional: If designated a "BHOP provider," the candidate will
participate in and successfully complete two phases of Air Force
IBHC training. Demonstrates core competency skills to IBHC
independent practice within 90 days of starting.
- Phase I training is approximately four days onsite at a CONUS
location. The candidate shall have a 100% pass rate (minimum of a
"3" rating in each competency area of the clinical competency tool)
before proceeding to Phase II.
- Phase II training will occur within 90 days of completion of
Phase I training for a two day course. The candidate shall have a
100% pass rate (minimum of a "3" rating in each competency area of
the clinical competency tool) in order to be deemed acceptable for
the position.
* Must be a U.S citizen and have the ability to pass a Background
Check/Security Clearance.
DUTIES: The duties include but are not limited to the
following:
* Provide concise documentation of care and recommendations in the
patient's electronic medical record, using required documentation
template, within the allowable timeframe defined by the MTF
standard after the patient is seen.
* Attend and participate in meetings during normal duty hours and
professional staff conferences and other appropriate professional
activities such as, but not limited to the following: Quality
Improvement meeting, professional staff meetings, Commander's staff
meetings, Mental Health Flight meetings, and others required by
applicable regulations, MTF guidance, or as directed by the Mental
Health Flight Commander or his/her designated representative.
* Perform psycho-diagnostic assessments, Medical Evaluation Boards,
Fitness for Duty Determinations / Profiles, military duty mental
health clearances, direct mental health care, care coordination,
consultation with other medical specialists within the MTF for
treatment purposes, clinical oversight/support to mental health
technicians requiring direct provider oversight of patients and
clinical encounters, engage in on the job clinical training for
mental health technicians in day to day clinical care.
* Consults with medical personnel, legal authorities, and military
commanders, as required.
* Individual, family and group psychotherapy, and couples therapy;
alcohol and drug treatment evaluations.
* Maintain accurate and current notes in both the Mental Health
records and inpatient medical records of all patients seen, as
appropriate, and produces reports of evaluation and/or treatment,
as required.
* If designated a BHOP provider, the FTE will function in a
patient-centered medical home location (i.e., 633 MDG Operational
Medicine Clinic) as a part or full-time equivalent provider as an
internal behavioral health consultant (IBHC) as outlined in DoDI
6490.15 Integration of Behavioral Health Personnel Services Into
Patience-Centered Medical Home Primary Care and Other Primacy Care
Service Settings and the BHOP Practice Manual.
* Provides brief cognitive/behavioral interventions in primary care
under the Air Force consultation model.
* May provide classes in format appropriate for primary care (e.g.,
stress management class, sleep enhancement class, chronic pain
class).
* Works independently in the absence of direct oversight and
adheres to Air Force values. Effectively uses appropriate
communication format in addressing and resolving professional
issues.
* Must be skillful and tactful in communicating with people who may
be physically or mentally ill, uncooperative, fearful, emotionally
distraught, and occasionally dangerous.
* Must possess organizational, problem-solving, and communication
skills to articulate medical requirements to patients,
families/care givers, medical and non-medical staff in a
professional and courteous way.
* Successfully consults with PCMs on-demand about general issues
and specific patients.
* Ensures PCMs receive same-day verbal and/or written feedback on
patients referred.
* Delivers brief presentations/trainings to primary care team
members regarding behavioral health issues and IBHC services.
* Effectively manage a full daily patient load, as defined by the
Mental Health Business Practice Standards and BHOP
* Manual of completing approximately 8-14 patient encounters per
day.
STAFFING & SCHEDULING:
* Duty Hours: Usual Duty Hours for this position is an eight hour
shift between the hours of 0630 to 1830 Monday - Friday, to include
an uncompensated 1 hour lunch.
* Place of Performance: The work to be performed will be at 633d
Medical Group .
SCHEDULING AND STAFFING:
Monday through Friday for 8 hours between the hours of 0630 and
1800
Place of Performance: The work to be performed under this contract
will be at 633d Medical Group on Langley AFB, VA.
