Job Description:

12 Experience: 1.5 - 2 years of acute care travel experience
required. License: DC RN License required. Must have DC license in
hand prior to start date. Certifications: BLS required. BSN
preferred. Must-Have: Minimum 4 years nursing experience if
first-time traveler. Description: Main 6 Ortho/MS/TELE unit cares
for orthopedic patients. Daily patient diagnoses include primary
total joint replacements, revisions, spine surgery, and other
orthopedic procedures. Length of stay for patients typically ranges
from 1 to 5 days. The nursing staff collaborates as a team to
provide exceptional care. Patient care includes monitoring complex
medical diagnoses alongside surgical interventions.
Multidisciplinary rounds are held daily to ensure coordination of
care. Ratios of nurses to patients are 1:5-6. Facility includes a
total of 402 staffed beds. Scrubs can be of any color without
hospital logos. Charting is conducted via an electronic health
record system. Communication follows an SBAR format. Weekend work
is required every other weekend; 50% of weekends must be covered.
Floating to units of equivalent or lower levels of acuity may be
required. Call responsibilities are included in the position.
