Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 08/04/2025 - Duration: 14 weeks - 48 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse - LTAC MS Tele (High Intensity Care Unit - HICU) Location: Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center and Hospital Address: 2434 W Belvedere Ave, Baltimore, MD 21215 Contract Group: LifeBridge Health - New Start Date: 08/04/2025 Duration: 14 weeks Shift: Day Shift, 4 x 12-hour shifts (07:00 AM – 07:00 PM) Scheduling: No block schedule Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required Position Overview: Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the LTAC MS Tele High Intensity Care Unit (HICU), providing care to adult and geriatric patients requiring extended medical treatment, respiratory support, and rehabilitation services. The unit manages complex cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and renal conditions in a multidisciplinary setting. Key Responsibilities: - Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in a 20-bed semiprivate LTAC HICU unit, specializing in ventilator, pulmonary, and acute rehab care. - Manage patients with conditions such as acute brain injury, cardiac and pulmonary diseases, spinal cord injuries, and complex wound care. - Administer medications including antiarrhythmics, anticoagulants, antihypertensives, continuous IV sedation, and emergency medications. - Provide respiratory and thoracic care: tracheostomy, chest tube management, endotracheal suctioning, and ventilation modes. - Perform genitourinary and renal care including AV-shunt/fistula care, bladder irrigation, catheter insertion, and monitoring renal failure. - Conduct complex wound care and infection prevention measures. - Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, perform 12-lead EKGs, and monitor cardiac status. - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, social services, and rapid response teams. - Float within hospital units as needed, adhering to scope of practice. Qualifications: - Active Maryland or Compact RN license at time of submission. - Minimum 2 years nursing experience, with at least 2 years preferred for HICU. - Required certifications: ACLS and BLS. - Experience with Cerner charting system required. - Preferred experience in LTAC, MS Telemetry, trauma level I hospitals, and teaching facilities. - Ability to work independently and within a team in a high-acuity environment. - Must be punctual and reliable, adhering strictly to time and attendance policies. Unit Details: - Patient Age Group: Adults and Geriatrics (18 years) - Patient Diagnoses: Complex cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, renal, and wound care cases. - Unit Capabilities: 24/7 respiratory care, diagnostics, medical treatment, and rehabilitation for patients requiring extended hospital stays.
