A skilled Registered Nurse with CVOR experience is sought to support a dynamic surgical team in a well-equipped medical center located in Upper Marlboro, MD. This 13-week contract position demands expertise in circulating and scrub nursing within cardiovascular operating rooms, complemented by flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and on-call duties. Responsibilities include providing high-quality perioperative care in the cardiovascular OR, collaborating with surgical teams, and adapting to floating within the specialty and general OR areas as case volume demands. The role requires active participation in weekend and holiday coverage, with an on-call schedule averaging 10-15 shifts per contract. Surgical scrubs are provided for seamless transition into sterile environments. Qualifications or Desired Experience: Active RN license in Maryland BLS certification required; ACLS preferred Minimum of 5 years OR nursing experience; first-time travelers with strong general OR experience (Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, General Surgery) will be considered Competency in circulating and scrub roles within the CVOR setting Availability to work 4x10-hour day shifts (06:45-17:15), including potential earlier start times for multiple heart cases Willingness to fulfill weekend, holiday, on-call, and floating responsibilities within specialty and general OR Location Overview:Upper Marlboro, MD, offers a suburban setting with convenient access to major metropolitan areas.
