Job Description:
MedStar Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed
Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Medical Surgical Renal team. This
position provides a crucial role in the support and care of
patients with renal conditions, working under the supervision of
registered nurses and physicians in a dynamic hospital setting. The
successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring patient
health, administering medication, and assisting with daily living
activities among other duties. This role requires a practical nurse
who can thrive in a fast-paced environment and contribute to our
mission of delivering outstanding patient-first health care.
Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered
nurse or physician. Monitor and record patient's condition and
document patient care services. Administer medications and
treatments per physician's orders and monitor for reactions or side
effects. Assist in the implementation of patient care plans.
Prepare patients for, and assist with, examinations and treatments.
Measure and record patients' vital signs, such as blood pressure
and temperature. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work
environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability
to work effectively in a team. Keen observation skills for
monitoring patient health. Capacity to handle medical information
discretely. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance
Life Insurance 401k Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
valid in Maryland, DC, or Virginia. Basic Life Support (BLS)
certification from the American Heart Association or
equivalent.
