As a Medical Assistant in our fast-paced urgent care setting, you will play a vital role in providing efficient and compassionate patient care. The ideal candidate should have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, be able to multitask effectively, and demonstrate a commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare services. Responsibilities: 1. Patient Intake and Triage: - Greet and assist patients upon arrival, ensuring a smooth check-in process. - Collect and record patient demographic information, medical history, and chief complaints. - Prioritize and triage patients based on the urgency of their medical needs. 2. Vital Signs and Patient Preparation: - Perform basic clinical tasks, including measuring and recording vital signs. - Assist with patient preparation for examinations, procedures, and diagnostic tests. - Ensure a clean and organized patient care environment. 3. Assistance to Healthcare Providers: - Aid healthcare providers during examinations, procedures, and minor surgeries. - Prepare and maintain medical supplies and equipment. - Assist with wound care, suture removal, and other minor medical procedures. 4. Patient Education: - Provide clear and concise instructions to patients regarding prescribed medications, home care, and follow-up instructions. - Educate patients on preventive care measures and lifestyle modifications. 5. Administrative Duties: - Schedule patient appointments and follow-up visits. - Manage and update electronic medical records with accuracy and completeness. - Handle phone inquiries, take messages, and relay information to healthcare providers. 6. Infection Control and Safety: - Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and sterile environment. - Follow safety guidelines and protocols for handling hazardous materials. Qualifications: - Completion of a medical assistant training program or equivalent education. - Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA). - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. - Prior experience in urgent care, primary care, or a related healthcare setting is preferred. - Proficient in medical terminology and documentation. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and high-volume setting. Working Conditions: - Fast-paced urgent care environment with varying patient volumes. - Shift work, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. - Potential exposure to infectious diseases and occupational hazards.
