Job DescriptionCACI is currently looking for outstanding IT candidates to join our TSA IT Management, Performance Analysis, and Collaborative Technologies (IMPACT) team in the National Capital Region (NCR) and throughout the United States. CACI will provide a variety of IT services through IMPACT including cyber security, identity and access management, risk management, cloud integration and engineering, field support services, service desk, application deployment and optimization, and operations center support services. -- CACI will support TSA in both classified and unclassified IT operational environments increasing availability and security for a variety of applications and systems. IMPACT services will integrate with the broader DHS mission and enhance existing Department-wide IT capabilities.What You---ll Get to Do:Responsible for knowledge and proficiency with an enterprise database technology to include the installation, configuration and maintenance of the organization's UNIX operating systems and all related systems or software. Establishes and maintains security and integrity controls. Formulates and monitors policies, procedures and standards relating to database management. --Proposes and implements enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system. Analyzes and resolves problems associated with server hardware/software and applications software and ensures scalability and appropriate integration with other systems. Detects, diagnoses, and reports UNIX related problems on both UNIX server and UNIX desktop systems. Responsible for backup or recovery procedures. Writes database documentation, including data standards and procedures. Controls access permissions and privileges. Ensures that storage and archiving procedures are functioning correctly. Conducts capacity planning. Communicates regularly with technical, applications and operational staff to ensure database integrity and security. Clones application environments.--Ensures availability of related application technology (e.g., web services, applications, batch processors, job schedulers, etc.). --Provides Tier III support for the application technology stack.More About the Role:The ideal candidate for this role will be an independent worker, self-motivated, with strong organizational, verbal/written communication, and time management skills. Responsibilities will include:Maintain the daily health of a large Enterprise environment consisting of physical and virtual servers in TSA---s Development, Integration and Production platformsProvide technical expertise while working with Systems Engineers, Developers and DBAsBuild and configure servers, hardening them to agency security compliance standards and deploying them to usersTroubleshoot hardware, software and Operating System, network issues, providing guidance and resolution implementation.-- This includes participation on crisis bridge calls to resolve server and application outagesProvide support for the enterprise services such as DNS, NFS, and the interoperability of UNIX with various types of applicationsResponsibilities may include the installation, configuration, tuning, and support of Servers running Sparc Solaris and SAN storage LUNsVirtualizing products; Solaris containers/zones, ZFS disk pools VXFSmaintain high system availability, prompt response and action to meet deadlinesYou---ll Bring These Qualifications:US Citizenship requiredAn active Entrance on Duty (EOD) is required to begin employment and must be maintained as a requirement of continued employmentUniversity Degree (BA/BS) or equivalent experience5 years of demonstrable System Administration and/or system maintenance and support of a large client-server based IT enterpriseAdditional years of experience and certifications may be substituted for a degree in some instancesExperience working within a structured change management processExcellent analytical and communication skills--Shell scripting abilityAnalyzes root causesMust be available to participate in the on-call rotation and work occasional weekends and/or holidays as scheduledDetail orientedFlexible --- The environment is highly dynamic.
