The National Systems Group serves as the technical adviser to the
Intelligence Community and its mission partners involved in the
collection and distribution of national and tactical intelligence,
including electronics programs, advanced technologies, ground and
communications, imagery programs, and systems engineering and
launch.Join a small, dynamic program office team supporting the
conceptualization, development and delivery of innovative, mission
focused ground processing capabilities within the Integrated
Intelligence (I2) Program Office (PO), part of the Ground
Enterprise within the National Systems Group. As a Senior Software
Engineer (Sr. Project Engineer), you will help pave the path for
rapid development and execution of innovative, effective, mission
critical software intensive capabilities to provide leading edge
advantage to the warfighter.This position requires 100% on site
work in Chantilly, VA
What you'll be doing
- Provide software engineering expertise to help define mission
essential data processing applications developed by I2PO and used
by DoD and IC operators and analysts
- Perform verification and validation activities to support
mission assurance and to recommend best practices for agile
software solutions
- Inform best approaches to agile requirements/mission thread
management processes to ensure development of an executable
technical baseline
- Lead small teams in the investigation of approaches to improve
systems architectures and technology enablers.
What you need to be successful
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science,
Systems Engineering, or related field.
- 12 years of experience in Software and/or Systems
Engineering
- Experience using one or more modern software programming
languages (e.g. Java, C++, C, Python)
- Experience in cloud-based technologies (AWS and/or Azure),
architectures, platform and framework service enablers and hosted
application deployment
- Experience using one or more of the following: JavaScript,
Angular, MongoDB, MySQL, Docker, Jenkins, Git, and Jira
- Experience in roles requiring strong interpersonal, verbal and
written communication skills
- Willing to travel domestically approx. 5%
- This position requires a current and active TS/SCI security
clearance and polygraph, which is issued by the US government. U.S
citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

- Masters or PhD degree in Software Engineering, Computer
Science, Systems Engineering, or related field.
- Expertise developing software using one or more modern software
programming languages (e.g. Java, C++, C, Python)
- Expertise developing software using cloud-based technologies
(AWS and/or Azure), architectures, platform and framework service
enablers and hosted application deployment
- Expertise developing software using one or more of the
following: JavaScript, Angular, MongoDB, MySQL, Docker, Jenkins,
Git, and Jira
- Contribution to published technical work or noted public
speaking expertise
- Familiarity with National Security Space systems - software
intensive capabilities design, manufacture, integration and / or
