Job Description:

BCforward is currently seeking a Systems Administrator! This is an ONSITE role with occasional remote work available. On call rotation (not shift) --- Tuesday eve to Tues morning (1 week after hours and weekend as on call) Responsibilities: * Maintain operation of multi-user computer systems in accordance with customer's security policies and directives. * Provide 24x7x365 System Administration to include (but not limited to) security remediation, troubleshooting, and patching * Provide rotational on call support (in addition to day-to-day tasks) * Support DevSecOps environment * Support tasks such as: o Maintain and deploy Windows desktop images for laptops o Perform desktop support tasks to support program needs o setting up administrator and service accounts (VPN, LDAP, Windows Desktop) o maintaining system documentation o tuning system performance o managing backups, tape rotations, and replication o performing operating system (OS) patches and Oracle client patches (patching) o supporting replacement of end-of-service life equipment o supporting multiple environments and systems in multiple data centers * Support planning, deployment, maintenance, and enhance system baseline configurations and security posture through administrative, preventive, detective, and reactive controls, such as system baseline management, change and configuration management, anti-virus measures and patch management. * Maintain technical expertise in all areas of computer hardware, linux operating System software, security and supporting technologies and protocols * May propose solutions to management to ensure all system requirements are based on future needs and current usage, configuring such solutions to optimize cost savings. * Prepare or ensure that appropriate system documentation exists, including operational instructions. * May develop, modify, maintain CRONs and/or scripts Preferred Qualifications: * Experience configuring RedHat Linux operating systems and performing problem resolution * Experience with Unix/Linux monitoring tools * Experience installing a variety of applications on Linux/Unix platforms * Experience with installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Apache, Tomcat, and Java applications software * Experience with Linux operating system and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) * Demonstrates ability to perform Hardware / OS performance analysis and tuning, enhancements and corrective actions * Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible * Experience working with CI/CD pipelines * Knowledge of Subversion/JIRA (on UNIX/Linux) and writing shell scripts in languages such as Perl and SHELL * Experience with backup tools (Networker) and Quantum Tape Library * Experience with imaging Windows workstation (laptop) for Offnet supportInterested candidates please send resume in Word format Please reference job code 210013 when responding to this ad.
