The Command, Control, and Intelligence (C2&I) Division within the Advanced Solutions Group (ASG) has an opening for a System Administrator/Dev Ops Engineer to assist with development operations of a mature, commercial suite of GIS Products.
We are seeking a talented and diversely capable System Administrator/DevOp Engineer; who will be responsible for installation, configuration, administration, support and maintenance of systems, including associated hardware. Duties include updating to new systems, as well as support on current systems by tuning performance, allocating storage space, and implementing critical system patches. Candidate will also be responsible for briefing on systems status in meetings and in technical documentation.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: --- Work independently to achieve day-to-day objectives with significant to moderate impact on operational results or project deliverables--- Responsible for entire projects or processes within a technical area--- Develop technical solutions that require collaboration with internal experts, deep analyses and understanding of impact on end-product/solution--- Develop solutions to technical problems that require depth of technical knowledge, but are typically limited in complexity--- Communicate with colleagues across multiple areas (project managers, other technical resources, etc.)--- Explains technical solutions, practices and procedures to others within the organization--- Install, configure, troubleshoot, monitor, and update system components such as servers, virtual machines, tape backup, software updates, permissions, authentication, databases, and SSL certificates--- Document system designs, configurations, and maintenance--- Evaluate, budget, and purchase required software/hardware--- Inventory software, hardware, equipment, etc.--- Design, implement, and monitor system securityQualifications BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:--- BS degree and minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience--- Scripting, Automation, Integrations: Demonstrated capability to automate administrative tasks and/or integrate services using languages such as Batch, Bash, PowerShell, VBScript, Python--- Networking: Familiarity with basic network layer 3 protocols, structuring, and managing multi-node networks including addressing, routing, and traffic control--- Security / Information Assurance: Experience implementing SSL, digital certificates, obfuscation. Experience managing risks related to the use, processing, storage, and transmission of information and the systems and processes used for those purposes--- Windows Administration: Client and server OS/patch installation, configuration, and troubleshooting. Active Directory setup, management, permissions and authentication integrations--- Web Server Administration: Administer web servers and the software development services they host including installations, upgrades--- Virtual Machine Administration: Monitoring, configuration, and optimizing virtual machines. Experience handling high system load, multiple hosts, and performance optimizations--- Hardware Administration: Experience with RAID configurations, server hardware components and rack equipment. Experience with disaster recovery software and hardware such as SANs or Tape Autoloaders--- Technical Writing: Ability to articulate designs and configurations using Microsoft tools such as Visio, PowerPoint, and Excel.--- Database Administration: Experience administrating RDBMS such as Access, SQL Server, MySQL, and Oracle.--- Procurement / Asset Management: Capable of developing purchase specifications, working with vendors for quotes, estimating budgets, managing hardware / software inventories, and accounting for assets
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:--- Strong organizational skills in implementing processes and managing file systems--- Python scripting experience implementing various APIs such as VMWare, InstallShield, MSBuild, and Dotfuscator--- Experience with Symantec BackupExec and Tape Libraries--- UPS Backup power management experience--- SQL Server Administration experience--- Familiarity with Esri technologies, including ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, and GeoDatabases--- Working knowledge of VMWare and experience implementing / hosting ESXi servers--- Hardware maintenance experience with Dell servers and OpenManage--- Experience with source control tools such as: GIT, Subversion, or Perforce--- Experience with software development tools such as: JIRA, Confluence, and Jenkins
