As a local driver, your primary role will be to fulfill daily delivery tasks, ensuring timely delivery of goods while maintaining a strict adherence to safety guidelines. Safely operate a heavy or tractor-trailer truck on local routes Load and unload cargo, verifying loads against shipping papers Maintain logs of travel and cargo according to federal and state regulations Regularly inspect truck before and after trips, noting any necessary repairs Follow accident procedures if an accident occurs Manage routes and routines to maximize efficiency and reduce fuel consumption Keep communication open with dispatchers and supervisors to report any incidents or discrepancies Attend and participate in safety meetings Strong driving record with no traffic violations Proficiency in operating electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB etc.) Ability to handle physical workload Strong attention to detail Excellent communication and organizational skills Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance Valid CDL B driver’s license Clean driving record Must meet all DOT requirements including a DOT medical card Forklift certification is a plus but not required
