Job Description

As a valued contributor to our team, you will apply extensive knowledge of principles, advanced techniques, and theories while determining incident response plans, policies, and procedures for Fannie Mae, as well as coordinate internal and external stakeholders in preparation for and response to incidents.

THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE
The Support and Tools - Incident Management - Advisor role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:

  • Apply strong subject matter expertise and act as a key advisor on incident response guidelines and current events.
  • Lead initiatives to evaluate and improve incident response plans, policies, and procedures.
  • Inform the team's technical direction on incident response, proactively look for hardware, software, and environmental alerts or malfunctions, as well as work with other technical teams for resolution.
  • Advise internal incident response teams.
  • Lead initiatives to improve communications external stakeholders to mitigate incidents and follow protocols.
  • Manage production incidents to resolution in a 24/7/365 environment using the standard Fannie Mae incident management processes and inform management at all levels of status, impact and resolution actions.
  • Effectively lead and guide Incident triage calls from a technical perspective analyzing different components of the infrastructure and application environments.
  • Influence other technical teams on the calls and articulate troubleshooting steps effectively.
  • Lead required technical follow-up calls for high profile incidents.
  • Ensure appropriate functional and management escalation takes place as per the standards and procedures.
  • Follow up on items that could potentially negatively impact production operations, assist with postmortem related activities and support various efforts related to operational improvements.
  • Based on recommendations from management, implement new and improved processes, change processes, perform new tasks, create reports and address ad-hoc requests.

  • 10 years

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent

Skills

Skilled in documentation and database reporting for the purposes of analysis, data discovery, and decision-making with the use of relevant software such as Crystal Reports, Excel, or SSRS.
Experience identifying and determining levels of risk to an organization's networks and systems using cybersecurity techniques and tools such as penetration testing, application security, and intel
The group of skills related to Data Acquisition including creating data collection requirements, web scraping, streaming, etc.
Expertise in service management concepts for networks and related standards such as ITIL practices or SDLC
The group of skills related to Programming including coding, debugging, and using relevant programming languages
Determining causes of operating errors and taking corrective action
Experience in the process of analyzing data to identify trends or relationships to inform conclusions about the data
Skilled in discovering patterns in large data sets with the use of relevant software such as Oracle Data Mining or Informatica
The group of skills related to Business Resilience including managing crisis events, assessing business impact, and planning and managing business continuity
The group of skills related to Product Testing including testing and evaluating software, usability testing, UAT, and using relevant product testing technology
The group of skills related to Security including designing and evaluating security systems, identifying security threats, securing computers, assessing vulnerability, etc.
Working with people with different functional expertise respectfully and cooperatively to work toward a common goal
Experience in using and maintaining password management software such as Duo, IAG NuID, and/or Ping Identity
The group of skills related to Product Development including designing products, developing product roadmaps, translating design requirements, prototyping, etc.
The group of skills related to Operational Excellence including improving and overseeing operations
The group of skills related to Risk Assessment and Management including evaluating and designing controls, conducting impact assessments, identifying control gaps, remediating risk, etc.
The group of skills related to Influencing including negotiating, persuading others, facilitating meetings, and resolving conflict
Experience gathering accurate information to explain concepts and answer critical questions
Adept at managing project plans, resources, and people to ensure successful project completion
Experience identifying and selecting strategic options, and identifying resources to meet the defined objectives
The group of skills related to Communication including communicating in writing or verbally, copywriting, planning and distributing communication, etc.
Skilled in cloud technologies and cloud computing

Tools

Skilled in Amazon Web Services (AWS) offerings, development, and networking platforms
Skilled in VPN software and encrypting data
Experience using JIRA
Skilled in SQL
Skilled in Excel
Skilled in ServiceNow to manage digital workflows
Experience using VMWare
