Job Description:
Essential Job Functions/Tasks
Staff Management
* Provide daily management and guidance, offer prompt feedback and
coaching to all support staff
* Ensure available staff is working, particularly during down
times
* Create monthly staff schedules with the focus to maximize
efficiency and ensure adequate coverage of shifts.
* Arrange and participate in monthly staff meetings, including DVM
meetings with the support of the Practice Manager
* Assist with the writing of and participate in staff performance
reviews
* With the assistance of the Practice Manager, initiate
disciplinary actions against employees, including maintaining any
documentation of the situation
* Participate in recruiting and interviewing of candidates as
needed
* Oversee all support staff time clock attendance logs (i.e.
clocking in, clocking out, tardiness, etc.)
Office Administrative Oversight
* Responsible for the support of the clinicians and daily flow of
the practice
* Oversee that processes and policies are in place and being
followed
* Assist in the creation and updating Standard Operating Procedures
for routine tasks as needed
* Advocate and implement process and procedure improvement within
the team
* Act as point of contact for escalation of issues or conflicts
between support staff
Leadership Responsibilities
* Help define team and staff goals
* Obtain 3 hours of CE in leadership/practice management every
calendar year
* Be an advocate for changes throughout the organization
* Offer and share new ideas, effective policy changes between team
and Administration
* Ensure compliance with Core Values, be familiar with and support
Client Service and Lateral Service expectations and implement with
onboarding employees
* Support a culture that caters to the needs of the clients
Other
* In addition to the above responsibilities, the Support Staff Lead
will also be willing to provide assistance where needed in order to
keep the daily operations running smoothly.
Required Qualifications, Education, and Experience
* Support Staff Lead should possess or be enrolled in a college
degree (AA/AS or BA/BS)
* Possess a minimum of 3 years of related experience in veterinary
setting
* Possess at least 1 year of leadership experience
* A background check and drug screening will apply

* Responsible for completing all tasks on time, unless
communication has been made to the owner
* Continuously growing and learning within veterinary and
leadership role
* Must be flexible and react quickly in a fast paced and dynamic

* Must understand and follow all internal processes that apply to
this position

Physical Requirements
* Able to be active, sitting, walking, standing, and lift 25
pounds
* Able to work well under pressure and at high levels of stress
* Exposures to supplies commonly used in hospital setting such as
anesthetic gasses and radiation
within appropriate OSHA standards
* Risk of injury from animals
* Be flexible with work hours
