Job Description:

Peraton is seeking a Security Tools Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The Security Tools Engineer is part of the Peraton DHS Cybersecurity team supporting the OBIM Hart program. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing security engineering duties by assisting functional teams with critical security engineering tasks during the development and Operation & Management of deployed systems.

The Security Tools SME will be responsible for maintaining and operating a variety of security tools which will deployed to support the OBIM Hart application. Tools may include McAfee End Point Threat Protection, McAfee Endpoint Security Platform, Crowdstrike and Splunk.

Day to Day Work Responsibilities will include:

* Ensuring that end point protection solutions (including anti-virus and intrusion protection) are deployed and are providing protection to the OBIM systems and applications.
* Ensuring tools are deployed to enable to successful collection and correlation of log data which will be utilized for monitoring, and event and incident notification and reporting of the OBIM environment.
* Applying security updates and patches as required to maintain operational capability and security compliance for the security tools.
* Collaborate with other teams to identify, drive and implement process improvements to reduce the time to detect and mitigate vulnerabilities
* Leverage sources like the AWS Well-Architected Framework and industry best practices for securing cloud services
* Apply strong attention to detail to identify security issues or reliability concerns and communicate with customers in a professional manner
* Coordinate the implementation of federal PKI certificates and troubleshooting certificate-oriented issues.

Basic Qualifications:

* BS degree and 5-7 years experience or MS degree and 3-5 years experience or high school diploma/equivalent and minimum 9 years experience
* Working experience with AWS solutions and in-depth knowledge of cloud infrastructure and technology offerings from major cloud providers - particularly AWS and MS Azure Govt. Cloud and Cloud Native tools
* Demonstrated understanding of the following: end point detection and response solutions, log ingestion and correlation, vulnerability management, configuration management, cloud secure posture management and container security concepts at an enterprise scale
* Hands on experience with deploying end point solutions such as McAfee or Crowdstrike.
* Familiarity for ITIL4 concepts.
* U.S. Citizenship required; active DHS Public Trust with EOD

Preferred Qualifications:

* Minimum 5years of experience working with federal government systems, preferably with DHS and DHS' Components
* AWS Solutions Architect Certification or other cloud/cloud security certifications

Salary Minimum: $57,500 Salary Mid: $115,000 Salary Maximum: $143,800 The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position, and is just one component of Peraton's total compensation package for employees. Colorado Salary Minimum: $67,100

Colorado Salary Maximum: $162,800
