Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join
our government contracting team. The ideal candidate will have a
thorough understanding of the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR),
Federal Travel Regulations (FTR), and Federal Acquisition
Regulations (FAR). Additionally, experience with Costpoint and
Expense Reports is required.
Responsibilities:
- Review and process invoices, ensuring compliance with
government regulations and contract requirements.
- Review expense reports to ensure compliance with government
regulations and contract requirements.
- Work with vendors to resolve any issues related to invoicing or
payments.
- Maintain accurate records of all accounts payable transactions
and ensure that all necessary documentation is properly filed.
- Prepare and process payments to vendors in accordance with
established procedures and deadlines.
- Monitor accounts payable aging reports to ensure timely
payments and resolve any issues as they arise.
- Assist with month-end close activities, including account
reconciliations and accruals.
- Process 1099 forms annually for vendors and answer questions
related to amounts reported to the IRS.
- Answer incoming phone calls and route them to the appropriate
parties or take messages.
- Track and order tenure awards for all employees.
- Organize company events, such as meetings, conferences, and
social gatherings, and ensure they run smoothly.
- Perform other duties as assigned. Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates or
Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of accounts payable experience in government
contracting.
- Thorough understanding of JTR and FTR travel regulations.
- Experience with Costpoint and Expense Reports.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and
PowerPoint.
- Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and
professionalism at all times.
- Must be a US citizen and be able to obtain a security
clearance.
