Description SUMMARY
Responsible for managing field programs as well as field representative duties consisting of member relations, procurement, quality/lab testing and customer relations, and animal care and sustainability.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned .
Field Program Management Provide leadership, direction, and education of key strategic and program initiatives targeted at improving Member Services and Field Team technology culture Develop and implement processes and standards for Member Services and Field Team programs to support standardized process adherence across the Member Services department. Processes and standards should align with the goals of MDVA's strategic plan. Develop and conduct special training programs and resources for Member Services staff to maintain compliance with programs and policies related to government agencies and customer requirements Continually work to improve performance, processes and cooperation within the field team and other MDVA staff Develop and implement strategies and programs to assist the Field Staff and dairy producers in their efforts to continuously improve technology adoption and best management practices related to milk quality, milk marketing, and other services related to MDVA members Provide MDVA managers and staff with complete, accurate, timely information - both written and verbal - required to effectively administering Field Team programs and policies, including timely communications and recommendations to management related to Member Services Perform compliance audits for Member Services Staff and support implementation of follow-up corrective actions to ensure compliance with MDVA processes, as well as state and federal regulations Partner with HR to deliver a comprehensive Field Team learning framework utilizing Alchemy or other relevant training programs Analyze data in compliance with current regulations, standards/policies and make appropriate recommendations to improve compliance related to government agencies and MDVA programs/policies Assist staff with reports and permits for compliance with government agencies Continually work to improve performance, processes and cooperation within the Member Services Team Maintain Field Representative role in a capacity that ensures processes and programs are developed with real-time information and understanding of Field Staff needs Train new staff as needed on appropriate use of technology and processes to ensure Technology Culture is effectively communicated and executed in the field Member Relations Maintain relationships with the membership in an assigned geographical area Be the liaison between Maryland & Virginia, its customers, and the membership Keep management informed of all membership concerns as they arise Support board and management decisions to the membership Participate in various industry-related functions and organizations Attend and assist management at all membership meetings in your area Help identify farms inside of designated membership area that can host customers for farm tours and assist with the facilitation of those tours Procurement Recruit and retain new member farms that meet the high standards of Maryland & Virginia customers including its own Maola farmer owned, local dairy brand Be knowledgeable of federal milk pricing and be comfortable explaining all pieces to the monthly milk checUnderstand the competitive environment in your area and how to compare Maryland &Virginia pay programs to others Quality/Lab Testing and Customer Relations Know and train membership on the specifications of quality raw milk Keep membership informed of quality concerns as they arise Know how to identify and troubleshoot quality concerns at member's operation
--- Use resources available to help solve quality concerns Support and educate membership on regulatory and customer quality specifications and ensure customer specifications are being met Work with milk haulers and drivers to ensure accurate sampling, milk weights, efficient pick-up and delivery of milk Regulatory Must pass the Approved Inspectors Exam administered by the state Must become a state Certified Industry Inspector where applicable Must maintain any required quality and regulatory records in good order Required with the help of your manager and State Employed Sanitarian to uphold all the requirements for raw milk as outlined in the PMO Animal Care and Sustainability Work with the Animal Care & Sustainability Staff to ensure a consistent message to the membership Must have an understanding of FARM Animal Care Evaluations and be able to perform an assessment of animal care and employee training records, observation of animal care and handling practices and overall farm conditions to ensure compliance with the NMPF FARM Program Must be familiar with local, state and national conservation practices, standards, and requirements and help ensure compliance with those requirements Must be able to identify risks that may be discovered on member farm operations and provide an opportunity for a proactive approach to develop a continuous improvement plan and path forward SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university - background in dairy science/agriculture preferred Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
A bility to effectively present information and respond to questions from members, other dairy professionals and the general public, either individually or in a group setting Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from members, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations TECHNOLOGY SKILLS Ability to use a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform such as Salesforce to enter, report and track member specific data Ability to use Microsoft Office Tools such as MS Word and MS Excel REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS. Certified Dairy Farm Inspector License (where required) Valid driver's license required PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions
T he employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
