Maintenance Technician III (AM2)

Job Summary: Assists in the repair and maintenance of equipment or
machinery. Job Duties: Uses hand tools, power tools and precision
measuring and testing instruments to repair and maintain, in
accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and
manufacturer's specifications, machinery and mechanical equipment,
such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and
production machines and equipment. Ensures new machines are
prepared for operation following protocols and procedures, and
performs regular technical testing to ensure their safety and
efficiency. Collects data on machine operation, and suggests
actions to reduce machine downtime. Typically requires HS and 4-6
The Machine Technician III will be an expert in performing service,
corrective maintenance, and routine preventive maintenance on a
variety of electro-mechanical card and mail processing equipment.
They will be a leader/resource for their shift and provide guidance
to all other technicians on how to perform both basic and in depth
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Deliver high quality preventative and emergency maintenance
services on various types of equipment.
Diagnose and understand complex equipment problems
Educate/mentor technicians in the repair/rebuild of mechanical
modules and assemblies.
Educate/mentor technicians in the corrective maintenance and repair
of the machinery.
Adhere to the procedures outlines in the Technical Support
Communicate pertinent information to the Technical Services
Manager, Technicians, and Production Staff.
Work autonomously to test, diagnose and resolve issues
Utilize MP2 platform in use by Idemia to maintain proper inventory
levels, resolve issues, and provide customer support by following
established processes for service activity reporting and call
Be consistently reliable and timely in all aspects of the position,
and display a positive attitude.
Develop competency in required applications to confidently use
diverse software and systems required by the operation
Committed to continuously improve by sharing ideas, problem
resolution successes, and suggestions on process improvement
Ensure a safe environment is present during equipment
Adhere to ISO 9000 specifications and requirements.
Advanced problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Must possess a strong mechanical aptitude
Must possess good communication skills.
Ability to work well as a team and provide coaching to others
Proficient with PC's, current operating systems and relevant
Willingness and ability to work flexible hours/shifts.
Ability to occasionally lift up to 75 lbs
Overtime is required as needed
Must be able to lawfully work within the US and have unrestricted
work authorization for US (dual citizenship not permitted):
Must have a high school diploma and/or GED
5+ years work experience working on mechanical devices, or in a
manufacturing environment.Experience on Datacard, Kern, and/or
Bell&Howell equipment strongly desired
