Northrop Grumman is seeking Electrical Engineers. This position
will be located at our Mission Systems Sector in Chantilly, VA.
The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman's
Signals Intelligence Mission Solutions (SMS) Department.
Evaluate electrical systems, products, components, and applications
by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge
of electricity and materials.
Perform routine operational tests and fault isolation on
development systems and equipment to ensure conformance with design
specifications.
Diagnose and isolate malfunctions down to component level.
Conduct defined engineering tests and collect data as assigned.
Confirm system's and components' capabilities by designing testing
methods; testing properties.
Develop electrical products by studying customer requirements;
researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and
materials.
Develop manufacturing processes by designing and modifying
equipment for building and assembling electrical components;
soliciting observations from operators.
Assure product quality by designing electrical testing methods;
testing finished products and system capabilities.
Prepare product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing
information and trends.
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as
needed
Frequent coordination with electrical engineers on design
constraints and firmware engineers for PCB bring-up
Basic Qualifications:
This requisition may be filled at either a level 1 or a level 2.
Basic qualifications for an Electrical Engineer 1 are a Bachelor's
Degree. Basic qualifications for an Electrical Engineer 2 are a
Master's Degree.
A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate
must:
Be completing or has completed their degree (Bachelor's, Master's,
or PhD) from an accredited institution.
Be majoring in or having majored in a STEM (Science, Technology,
Engineering or Math) degree or Electrical Engineering.
Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher (unofficial
academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by
uploading the documents to your application or profile).
Possess an active SECRET security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a
pre-requisite)
Experience with Microsoft Office suite
Preferred Qualifications:
Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.70/4.0 or higher
Possess an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph or
eligible to obtain the clearance
Knowledge of systems engineering, lifecycle design and
development
Knowledge of engineering development activities to include design,
test, checkout, fabrication, modification, and/or assembly of
electronic and electromechanical systems
Knowledge of applications that may include analog, digital and/or
video type circuits and logic systems
Familiarity or working knowledge of creating schematics and
diagrams
Knowledge of prototype building, environmental testing, and/or
simple developmental engineering tasks
Experience in the design and development of microelectronics,
reverse engineering, material sciences an overall understanding of
custom electrical engineering techniques used in the integration of
complex electrical systems in tightly constrained spaces.
Knowledge of embedded firmware and hardware systems
Experience or training in basic Surface Mount Technology (SMT)
soldering and assembly skills.
Experience in detailed schematic capture and multi-layer PCB layout
for analog and high speed digital circuits - *KiCAD is a plus*
Experience with various computer/hardware interfaces such as USB
2.0/3.x, RS-232 serial port, I2C, SPI, JTAG, and SATA
campusjobs
Salary Range: $85,100 USD - $89,400 USD
Salary Range 2: $100,900 USD - $108,200 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to
base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual
contributions as well as allow employees to share in company
results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be
eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman
