Job DescriptionDecision Support Interns located in Chantilly ,VA;
El Segundo, CA; or Colorado Springs, COJob SummaryThe Performance
Modeling and Analysis Department (PMAD) consists of a team
dedicated to providing groundbreaking solutions to government and
commercial customers by performing detailed and complex modeling,
analysis, and optimization of orbits, satellite access, and system
performance to provide customer decision support for future space
architectures. PMAD is seeking a creative, motivated Decision
Support Analyst to collaborate on a diverse portfolio of projects
developing sensor models and system visualizations as well as
perform orbital coverage and system performance assessments. The
Decision Support Analyst will show aptitude for object-oriented
programming as well as the capacity to efficiently leverage the
Aerospace Corporation's high-performance computing resources.Work
Model: This position will be a hybrid work model and offer
partially remote with some onsite work required in Chantilly, VA,
Colorado Springs, CO or El Segundo, CWhat You'll Be Doing
- Apply evolutionary computing and multi-criterion decision
making techniques to trade space analysis
- Assess overall performance of space systems
- Work with department staff as part of project teams
- Apply in-house or custom-developed analysis tools as
necessary
- Develop new analysis tools and techniques as necessary
- Duties, responsibilities and activities may change, or new ones
may be assigned as needed

SuccessfulMinimum Requirements:
- Currently enrolled fulltime in an accredited college/university
program pursuing a master's degree, or PhD in aerospace
engineering, operations research or related discipline
- Either undergraduate degree completed by internship start date
AND enrolled to begin Fall 2023 advanced degree program OR
currently enrolled in an advanced degree program
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Course work or comprehensive knowledge in one or more of the
following categories:
- Orbital mechanics and mathematics related to satellite access
geometry
- Optimization and decision support
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance; which
is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to
obtain a security clearance.
- Transcripts required How You Can Stand OutIt would be
impressive if you have one or more of these:
- GPA of 3.5 or higher
- Active security clearance
- Background in one or more of the following categories:
- Orbital mechanics and mathematics related to satellite access
geometry
- Optimization and decision support
- Software or simulation development
- Technically adept with the use and maintenance of PC or Unix
platforms
- Experience developing analysis tools using C/C++ and
PythonTranscripts are required for this position.Temporary housing
