Clinical Lead Salary: $18/HR Position Summary The Youth Autism
Support Counselor plays a vital role in supporting children and
adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) within the Youth
Autism Services (YAS) Program at The League for People with
Disabilities . This position provides direct support,
skill-building, and behavioral assistance in structured and
community-based environments while promoting independence,
emotional regulation, social engagement, and positive outcomes
aligned with individualized goals. This role is ideal for
compassionate professionals who are passionate about making a
meaningful impact in the lives of youth and families through
structured support, consistency, and collaboration. Key
ResponsibilitiesDirect Youth Support Provide one-on-one and
small-group support to youth with autism in accordance with
Individualized Service Plans (ISPs), IEP goals, and clinical
recommendations Support daily routines, transitions, social
interactions, communication, and emotional regulation Implement
behavior support strategies using positive reinforcement and
evidence-based practices Model appropriate social, communication,
and coping skills Program & Activity Implementation Assist with
planning and facilitating structured activities that promote social
skills, life skills, and engagement Support youth during
therapeutic, recreational, educational, and community-based
activities Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment
at all times Documentation & Communication Accurately complete
daily notes, incident reports, and progress documentation as
required Communicate effectively with supervisors, clinical staff,
educators, and families Participate in team meetings, trainings,
and supervision sessions Collaboration & Professionalism Work
collaboratively with BCBAs, therapists, educators, and
interdisciplinary team members Follow all League policies, YAS
program guidelines, and regulatory requirements Maintain
confidentiality and uphold ethical standards at all times Required
Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required Experience
working with children or adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder
or developmental disabilities preferred Ability to follow behavior
support plans and individualized programming Strong communication,
patience, and problem-solving skills Ability to remain calm and
professional in high-energy or challenging situations Preferred
Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Psychology,
Education, Social Work, Human Services, or related field Prior
experience in ABA-informed settings, youth programs, camps, or
school-based environments CPI, PMT, or crisis intervention training
(or willingness to obtain) Physical & Work Requirements Ability to
engage in active programming, including standing, walking, and
participating in activities Ability to lift, push, or pull up to
50lbs as needed Ability to work indoors, outdoors, and in community
settings Flexible availability including afternoons, evenings,
and/or weekends as required
